Westchester NY-based band Gilbert, is the 5 piece powerhouse that has been bringing their unique blend of rock-n-roll-n-funk-n-soul to the Hudson Valley (and beyond) since early 2016.
Gilbert performs collaboratively written and arranged original songs that blend seamlessly with the classic rock covers that make up much of their (3 hr) sets. At first glance, some might dismiss Gilbert as “just another high school garage band” based on their youth. But once they tear into classics from Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and Rush, those preconceptions are instantly crushed. Their original songs feature the band’s unique musicianship and approach to songwriting, which can be heard on “Juicing The Swine” and “Bad Globe”. Their stunning musicianship and on-stage chemistry is immediately apparent for those lucky enough to have seen them perform at any of the venues they’ve played. The sound and energy is infectious.
Gilbert is fronted by 16 year old singer, Tara Curran, whose powerful voice adds amazing gospel and soul flavor to classics like “Heartbreaker” (Led Zeppelin) and “Southbound” (The Allman Brothers). Justin Giacchetto’s searing guitar is backed up by the powerful rhythm section of Kevin Giacchetto (replaced Wilson Yarnall) on bass and Owen Hughes on drums. Their sound is rounded out by the nimble fingers of Eddie Fiscella on keyboards. Together, Gilbert is clearly greater than the sum of its parts.
"This young band called Gilbert is the real thing." —ETHAN CAREY (i95 Rock Radio), 2018
